Life is what happens while you make plans!

June 2016.
The car was ready and had been shipped to Nurburgring by a car truck company, 3 days before we flew to Frankfurt and drove to the Green Hell.
When the car arrived at RSR Nurburg I got an sms from a friend that was...hmmmm not so promising...

Still, we could only wait and hope for the best. 2 days later we took a plane to Franfurt, then drove to Nurburgring with a rental car (Fiat 500 with LANE ASSIST, scariest thing I have EVER seen in my driving years...) We arrived to Nurburg, settled down in the hotel and went to the Nordschleife for the tourist ride. The conditions were... VLN style... pouring rain and no positive thoughts...

We only got to drive a lap each (that was my friend's first lap...) and got back to the hotel for the briefing. The weather forecast for the 2 days of the event the 2nd and 3rd of June, was not looking good either but we had our fingers crossed.
We woke up on Thursday morning to a cloudy day but no rain. The track was still wet though. And then, it happened! The rain completely stopped and the track started to get dry (apart from 4-5 spots where water crossed the track - REALLY dangerous if you were not super focused). And we started driving!
The hosts said that there is a lady in the organizing team that "affects" the weather... I will not argue with that.
I started driving, only to find yellow flags (from accidents) and tow trucks. I only managed to get a semi-dry lap, but without boost in my car (boost hose had popped out of it's place...). Went back to the pits, secured the hose and were back on the track in no time.
But... Life is what happens while you make plans... I miss-shifted going down from 5th to 4th and accidentally engaged 2nd gear... The engine said "ok, I can take it" but the alternator had different thought. The regulator was damaged and that was it... After trying hard for a replacement there was no solution and the S2k was parked at RSR Nurburg, waiting for the truck to take it back to Greece...
At least we got to take some nice pictures and some video footage!

R A D I C A L ....

Amazing view of the track and racecar.

All together now...

S2000 substitute for day 2 of the event. We loved the Megane!

And a video from the event. The S2k can be seen at 5:19'' and at 6:25''.
